Editing
Copy editing and stylistic editing, as required, to ensure the text is all the c's: correct, complete, consistent, clear and coherent ...

...along with any other necessary editorial work to prepare a text for publication, circulation or, eg, for translation into other languages. Editing usually includes suggestions for improvement and clarification, even if only at the basic level of the copy editor.  Wherever possible, the author's own style or the publisher's house style is followed with regard to variant spellings, headings and structure.

editingBear in mind that copy editing focuses mainly on consistency, and preparing the text for 'print', while an evaluative/stylistic editor can make informed suggestions almost to the level of co-authorship, based on your own ideas about your readership and issues requiring clarification or elaboration. These distinctions remain despite the increasing use of computerised, easy-to-use systems, which tend to merge and blend different types of editorial input.

Flexibility is the key word! Our editorial input in the past has ranged from specialist data checking for a national research organisation to 'dots&commas' copy editing of passed-for-press copy for the publishing trade. Most individual authors prefer an all-round 'check and read' service, and we are happy to oblige. Just tell us your requirements!
