Researching and writing are usually part of the same process, and sometimes combined within the job description. A project which I particularly enjoyed was the Global Training Project, for which I wrote and developed a series of 'Millennial' business modules in 99/2000 including some of my own ideas on Recruitment and Career Testing, Negotiating Skills, Starting Your Own Business and many other topics!

My previous experience as a research officer in the academic world mainly involved specialised training needs evaluation and course development in the engineering, retail, hotel and catering and printing sectors, with an emphasis on new technologies, broadening access and encouraging equality of opportunity. Publications included 'Issues in Further Education', a distance learning unit at Masters level, and a national evaluation of open learning in Youth Training Schemes.
